ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO SHIT – Not Poetry
by Jason T. Kocher December 24th, 2010 - Creative » Poetry »
This is
not a poem
only
a series of sentences
slightly broken
over
various lines
saying simple things
often talking about nature
as in
“The leaves danced
in some fucking way
I’m supposed to care about”
or dumbing down
some social ill
“Me and my friends
are not
as fortunate
as others
REVOLUTION!”
or trying to
repackage
the mundanity of one’s life
as something more
“I remember
my mother
cleaning the floor
and later
cereal”
avoiding
almost
at all costs
alliteration
rhymes
or abstract combinations
that might pleasurably
dazzle the mind
where only punctuation
and not abstract thoughts
are thrown to the wind
(was that too much?)
old concepts
taking up
more space
than they should
sigh
