An Ideal Husband

I am, on a regular occasion, obsessed with both John Astin and Patty Duke. I loved both of their most famous roles, John Astin as Gomez Addams on The Addams Family and Patty Duke as Patty and Cathy Lane on The Patty Duke Show. I sadly have not seen much more of Patty Duke’s career, but I continued to enjoy John Astin as I saw him scattered on Night Court and The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Rapidly, this obsession turns to the fact that the two mismatched personalities were indeed a married pair for some time. Perhaps a desire to be in the middle of just such a marriage caused me to feverishly and somewhat crudely stitch together the above amalgamation. Allusions could be made to Brak‘s mother, the Mighty Boosh‘s Old Gregg, but perhaps both of those modern creations have in fact been subconscious manifestations of a long cultural longing for the creature above.
